Haven’t fished it yet but I can see the quality.

I didn’t take any pictures. I love the rod and case it came with. I’m going to purchase a few more next month for future gifts. Worth every penny. Hopefully you will have a bait casting rod available soon.

Very nicely built, a good quality rod!

Came quick and got it as a gift it was sick as hell!

Very nice quality

I caught a 2.5 pound cutthroat trout on it and the play was great!

Great rod! I paired it with a 4000 reel with 15lb test. Second cast we pulled in a nice Perch, took it to the Pier and jigged up some red tail perch. The sensitivity was amazing as I was able to feel every bite which helped my hookup ratio. This is a great rod overall and not just for surf/saltwater fishing, I can’t wait to try this at my favorite trout spot. Thank you for making a great product!
Isaac H.
I got the 8ft rod when they first came out. Had a tree come through the house so it was packed away, and just now was able to pull it out. Can't wait to test it out.
I like the quality so I am going to hit the cliffs on the Mendocino Coast for a good test.
Mack C.
I have only used it once but it was perfect for my purposes. It was a mile walk from my car so the case was nice for portability. It assembled nicely and worked great. I got snagged a few times and the rod handled it well. After 4 hours I got a sculpin which I kept (I didn’t get a picture unfortunately). Overall, it was a great new rod for me compared to what I had been using.

Awesome rod. Took it to Point Reyes over the weekend and had a great time. Super reliable with excellent action, I love this rod!
Hillbert B.
After a year of using it it still slay some monsters Best purchase ever and warranty was top notch broke it when a 3lb cownose ray slammed on it, they replaced it and now I caught this rock fish at the Chesapeake bay today and had to post it here.
Patrick W.
I love the travel rod. It’s great quality and packs away nicely. The neoprene reel cover is a great bonus! I couldn’t be happier.
Jamie P.
What a great pole the first time I used it I caught a fish. It had great action. It was exactly what I was looking for. The carrying case made it easy to get out on the rocks and then assemble.
Thank you

The 8ft travel rod is well made and performed very good peir fishing. It is very portable for easy travel, and I was impressed in the quality for the price. I would recommend if you are looking for a good travel rod.
Jeremy C.
Received the rod in the mail quickly, and was pleasantly surprised by how light the rod felt. Has a nice hand feel and can't wait to test it out on the Jetty. The only thing I would change was that the rod was a little more blue to match my reel better.
Tommy Ngoc P.

Very good rood fishing o the Columbia River for trout over in Washington State

Both rods are truley amasing! I had my doubts about multi peice rads . Some of my fly rods are four piece. These are spot on, they fish better than my one piece rods. Great travel rod they beark down so small I can keep them with my carry on the plane. I have wrapped several rods in the past these truly surpass my quality in every aspect. I may but the newest model soon. A big high five to Matt and his family they are doing wonderful.

Just received the "8Ft No Excuses Travel Rod with Tube," and appreciate the quality and compact convenience of its design. I paired it with a Daiwa BG 4000, as this reel easily transfers to a 10-ft surf rod. It's great to have a protected case and to not have to keep a loose rod in my vehicle. The case keeps things organized and the reel cases s a nice bonus. Yes, would buy again!
Any ideas about a travel surf rod? I have only seen Okuma's travel rod and case? Keep up the innovations and new products!
Chad R.
Finally got on fish with this rod! I love how I can fit it in my check bag so I don't have to carry a massive travel tube depending on the fishing I'm doing.
Took a charter out of Florida. The captain and mate were impressed! They didn't expect a 4 piece being built that nicely.
Due to conditions, I was only able to test it on snappers and sheepheads, but it was perfect. Hopefully next trip I can push it to its limit.
I rocked a 4000 Diawa Saltist MQ.
Edward Y.
LOVE the travel rod. It came in handy when I was in Mendocino this past weekend when my Okuma rod broke. With the travel rod (and bobber rig), I was able to haul in these bad boys: 24" ling, 19" cab, 18" cab, a whole lotta kelp greenlings that I threw back, and even 2 sculpin.
For the 19" cab, I actually reeled that thing up about 30 feet or so up a cliff where I was casting from. I had no idea how I'd land anything but threw out a line just cuz I thought here might be some fish down below. When I hooked the cab, I was low-key freaking out not knowing how I'd land it, but I just started reeling and reeling and the travel rod held up GREAT as I hauled that thing up and successfully landed the monster!
I love the travel rod so much and the bobber rig seriously only catches monsters. Together, it's an absolutely unbeatable combo and I couldn't recommend them more!
Reynold H.
I bought this rod because I love Matt’s YouTube channel. I paired my travel rod with a Shimano spheros 4000xg reel. I look forward to using it soon.
Juan
Very nice rod, looks better in person, can't wait to use it. Received it well packaged and in great shape.
Yolanda S.
Love this brand.

Slays trout big and small
Ed E.
Great 4 piece rod that comes with a nice protective rod case! I keep this in my truck for those spur of the moment fishing trips :-) I have used it once and it felt nice and light. I paired it with my Okuma Baitrunner reel and surf fished for a couple of hours. Though I did not catch any fish on the first trip with this rod, I do love the feel of it!
Brendan N.
Love the rod! Holds up well tossing 1-2oz sinkers/ big live baits and lures. Lots of backbone, maybe a bit stiff but it works well for me. Caught my first (freshwater) ling on it. Pairs well with a 4000 size reel.
Nazeef R.
Just what I needed a rod I can take anywhere can’t wait to see all the fun times I have with this fishing pole ! Thanks FishermanForLife
Nicholas D.
I bought this rod to fish the surf in Maui/Oahu. I needed a rod to travel with from So Cal and this one fit the bill for price, length, line class and ability to carry on in my luggage. Knocked down this bucket list Papio on my 3rd cast, rod handled it with no issues paired with a 4k thunnus and 20# braid. Stoked.
Todd F.
I ordered this rod not really expecting to be impressed, but given the limited options for travel rods, I took a shot. I'm glad I did! This rod is very well made. I used it to float popping corks for redfish in SC. It was perfect. I can tell you it will hande 30" + reds with no problem. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a fairly heavy duty travel rod.
mark H.
From our local lakes catching spotted bass to costa rica catching mahi!!! Great travel rod!!!
Ron Redondo R.
This rod performed greater than I my expectations. Being a 4 piece I was skeptical on durability, flexibility, and strength. It's one of the best purchases I've made as far as rods go. It's my go to for saltwater fishing. Paired with a 4000 reel with matching color scheme and matching braided line it looks sexy. Thank you Fisherman's Life for a great product. Tight lines!
vincent L.
Received the rod couple of week ago. It looks sturdy and felt great with the action.
Herbert V.
Pole is better than expected!! Love the travel case, it is made solid. Great all the way around.
Jerry T.
This rod has exceeded my expectations! I paired it with a Daiwa BG 4500, It’s stronger than it looks. It made a 15 pound shovel head seem like a white bass. The guides are beautiful and the cork handle makes it comfortable to jig all day long. I appreciate the price point of the rod because it’s such a great price. I actually bought one for my best friend ! The tube case that it comes in is solid. I’ve taken this pole from Cincinnati to San Diego & New Jersey. No damage and it fits nicely in a large check in bag. My name on Tik Tok is Slabber Tooth, if y’all need more videos of the pole.

Been looking for a travel rod. This is compact and I like how it comes with a case. I used the strap to hold my reel. This rod got me to get back into fishing after I stopped a year ago. Thanks fisherman life!
Isaac Hamilton III I.
Have not had a chancd to test it out yet but feels great
Donovan J.
So far for a travel rod it has a lot of back bone and able to sling my cast extremely far
James McDonald J.
The No Excuses rod does it all. We’ve fished fresh water and the ocean. And it’s compact. Great for camping and backpacking.
Marvin
Its awesome!

Bought this for a trip out to Puerto Vallarta. Fit in my suitcase perfectly. Caught some snapper, jack crevalle and needle fish. Worked perfectly, no complaints.
Oscar L.
Super happy with my rod!!
Tate
Great rod! It doesn't feel like a 4-pcs rod. The first day we took it out and got a leopard shark :-).
Kale S.
On the rod's first use I hooked onto a larger-than-expected lingcod (actually my first keeper ling) from atop a slippery jetty. In a state of panic and unable to safely get down to the water, I tried to horse the chunky boy up onto a ledge and, in the process, severely damaged the rod. This was entirely user error and in no way a defect or reflection of poor quality. I reached out to Fisherman's Life and asked if it would be possible to purchase a replacement section for the one I had damaged. Without hesitation they contacted me and did everything in their power to get my rod back into working order. Five stars for the feel of the rod (before I broke it) and five huge stars for the customer service!
Alex
Highly recommended if you are a traveling avid fisherman
Alex V.
So happy to have my NO EXCUSE TRAVEL ROD from Fisherman’s Website. Now I will be able to travel and be able to fish anywhere I travel now.
Oscar
I love it !!!

Great rod, took it a Sacramento river casting all day for striper. Perfect to Walk along the trails in the brush.
Oscar L.
Love it!

Rod is half the cost of my st croix travel rod. It has more guides by 1. It uses the same quality guides. I'm taking it to South Africa and it pairs well with my 5k stradic. Like the rod case as it is large enough to pack away the rod. So far, cause an oyster point halibut using a three way rig. Good enough travel rod.
arnold d.
This rod is worth every penny! My eleven year old hooked into a good sized bat ray and the rod handled it like a champ. I'm impressed! Great quality components and beautiful design. I'm gonna have to buy one for myself too!
Oscar
Love it

Just received my 4pc Travel Rod and very excited to try it out on my next trip to Cebu Philippines!! The size of the tubular carrying case will fit into my check-in luggage. Nice job Matts on calculating the size!! Will do my best to send you pics in action on my fishing excursion. The rod is super lightweight and economical in price. Thanks for creating this model! Talk to you toward the end of summer when I am there.
Hillbert B.
Tested the rod today! And caught this massive cownose ray! I was afriad that the rod will break at the connectors but It held up really well, cownose was 30ish lbs! And the rod held upll!!!! Will buy another one!!!! IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!
Hillbert B.

Sean K.
Picked up this travel rod for a Portugal trip. Recommend from Matt. It is a very good quality made rod lighter than all the rest and it is mod tip med flex as described can’t wait to give it a go. Thanks again Matt. See u at the fare
Jeff B.
Great rod used it a couple weeks ago for surf perch. Nice to be easy to pack in the car. Appreciate having a full cork handle.
Mauricio V.
Your gear helped me reach the next level of fishing. Thank you
haggeo r.
This is a great travel rod that will handle any inshore saltwater fish and any freshwater fish you might encounter. I paired it with a 4000 series Shimano for fishing in the lagoons around Moorea in French Polynesia off of a kayak. No complaints about the quality or performance of the rod, a solid buy at a good price.
Michael A.
Couldn’t be happier with the travel case. Makes hiking to the spots so much easier. The sensitivity is great and even cast some big baits. Absolutely recommended especially if you’re mobile.
Matthew S.
Great rod, performs just as advertized. It has a nice rigid feel to it, but the tip is sensitive enough to feel subtle bites. The cork grip is longer than most rods which helps for bigger casting.
