Used it in Costa Rica. Was perfect from shore and didn’t have any issues bringing it on the plane
Casey Y.
Travelled from west coast to east coast with it and it was perfect.

Good quality rod. Now I have a surf rod I can travel with without sacrificing quality.

Worked perfectly. Loved your travel rod and the bobber kits too. Used them both to catch 2 cabezons on squid. A 14” and an 18”. The big one was delicious. I boat fish so this was a nice change to fish off the rocks.

I have been searching for a nice surf rode that is transportable. When I came across this rod by Fisherman’s Life and saw it in action on YouTube, I knew I had to have it. The length is perfect at 9’4” and breaks down into four pieces in its included travel case. The rod is light and well made. Looking forward to using it for more often than my other surf rods that are heavier

I let a friend borrow my new No Excuse 9’4” travel rod when he went on an Alaska cruise. He caught several Coho salmon with it and said it performed very well. Unfortunately, he left it in the car on his way back to the cruise ship. He is thinking if getting one for himself and repay me.
I ordered another one and can’t wait to use it. I will put an ID label on the rod and will wrap an orange neon tape around the case so it stands out more and decrease the chances of not losing it.

I'm very impressed with this 9'4" travel surf rod so far. Unfortunately, I haven't been out to the surf yet, but I took it to Lake Mead and caught some small schooling stripers. One of the main reasons I bought this is to take it on flights with me in my suitcase. The rod tube is a nice quality with foam caps on the ends to ensure the rod is safe and secure. The rod tube would easily fit in a 30" checked suitcase when angled diagonally, but it's ultimately 1/2" too long to fit in my 28" checked suitcase. Luckily, I have other travel rod tubes that I can fit this surf rod into that will fit inside my suitcase diagonally. Great job Matts. I'm looking forward to getting this out to the surf and catching some big fish on it!

The rod came quick in time for my trip. Great value! Only fish caught that day, first Dorado for my son. Super fun!

I love it!!! I live in Florida, and it worked beautifully. I went beach fishing for about 5 hours and was able to test it on many species. I caught a baby black tip shark, a spotted sea trout, a stingray, a pompano, small baitfish, a crab (somehow) and (unfortunately) a catfish. It worked wonderfully and had great sensitivity to the small fish bites while still being very durable on the heavier, bigger, and harder fighting fish. Unfortunately, I only kept the trout and crab (for bait) so thats only picture I really have of my catches. All in all, it works like a charm and I love that even though its in 4 parts, it works as intended and is just as good as other rods that only split into 2-3 (as far a I have seen so far). Great product, would recommend to anyone!

I am very pleased with the quality of this fishing rod. I love that it is compact and easy to take with me. I’m also very happy with the customer service that Fisherman’s Life provides, overall they are a 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

In Fiji, going to use the pole. Great size for traveling. Fits in check-in luggage perfectly.
Thank you! MQuiroz

Amazing rod, honestly.

Very good rod that can catch more fish!

Rod was super nice to throw a 1/2 weighted long shank hook with a 5” swim bait. Action was good, and it held together well. Skunked today but no fault of the rod’s, lol. Looking forward to getting bit on it!!

Perfect for fishing here in Hawaii. Already pulled in a 3ft barracuda. Love that it’s compact enough to keep in the car.

Perfect rod . Just what I needed..

Dragged it around on my pack, in my truck, etc for a few weeks before actually fishing it. First time fishing with the rod I was blessed with two keeper lingcods back to back from the pier at work. It casts amazing, and I really like the action a lot. I can see this being a very versatile piece if it holds up over time, thanks Matts for the awesome rod

Great rod & looking forward to using it on the jetty!

Awesome rod to bring with wherever you go. Brought out to Catalina and was super easy to attach to my backpack. Could even fit a few lures inside the case. Next stop is a Northern California road trip next month! Worked flawlessly.

Love the Convenience of travel rods

Bought some other rods this year that are on piece, which many are. Making transport difficult., from central valley to the coast in 4 door sedan with all our stuff.
This travel rod is awesome, got it for rocky shore and beach surf. Nice action and backbone too.
I absolutely love the included zippered nylon hard travel case that's included. Sections go together with light twist -
[as Matts recommends] and they stay put. Well designed,
hook keeper a plus, nice cork handles, very light, Fuji guides, curious what type guide inserts? (maybe add to description?) Definitely recommend.
Plan on possibly getting my buddy one for his Birthday coming up. He's already getting some Jiggy Jigs I previously ordered, Check em' out, quality stuff!
Thanks Matts to you and your staff and the awesome videos!

I love the rod… did really great in fort Bragg. I can’t lie I was hella disappointed about getting fisherman life sticker… that was the only disappointment!!!

Some people dislike 4-piece rods, but I don’t mind. No issues for me and it can handle good lure weight.
Plus, the color scheme is a bonus.
When I’m out with the family, I can toss the rod case in the trunk so it doesn’t take up much space.
I love it.

Very strong , convenient.

I bought the 9' 4" 4 piece surf rod for my wife as she needed a new pole. The pole comes in a nice hard case keeping the guides from being damaged. Speaking of the guides, they are robust and should last for a long time to come. The pole goes together easily and even with hard casts, the parts stay put. Way better than a collapsible pole. The cork grips are a nice touch as well. The pole is sturdy. her first fish on it was a nice 25 inch blue catfish. The pole handled it like a champ. Now I have to buy one of these for myself after seeing how it performed.

Like the convenience of a travel rod and the power and size of a inshore and surf rod
I have both the 8 and 9’4”
Wish there was a reel to match

I paired this with a penn 4000 and its unstoppable. Mainly using it for Jetty fishing and the portability is great. Really no excuse not to pack it with you on road trips.

Feels good like the 8”
